The Artist’s Way --
Recovering a Sense of Possibility
This week you are being asked to examine your payoffs in remaining stuck. You will explore how you curtail your own possibilities by placing limits on the good you can receive. You will examine the cost of settling for appearing good instead of being authentic. You may find yourself thinking about radical changes, no longer ruling out your growth by making others the cause of your constriction.
KEY IDEAS:
Limits
We tend to draw very limited amounts of the power actually available to us – we believe in scarcity.
Finding the River
Acquiring a sense of movement and change in our lives.
We are becoming less rigid.
Replacing “no way” with “maybe”.
The Virtue Trap
For an artist, guiltless withdrawal is necessary.
The artist requires the upkeep of creative solitude.
The urge toward respectability and maturity can be stultifying, even fatal.

And yet again, even though the snooze button on my alarm clock kept being pushed this morning...I managed to drag myself out of my warm, cozy bed and embark upon my Artist journey this morning. I am so thankful that I got to class in time to bask in the creative energy of others. It was all so inspiring on so many levels. Tonight, as I sit at my computer I thought I would jot down some of my answers to the Tasks Exercises #2.I thought it would be neat to journal them online. Since #2 states that we should be alert for images..I thought, well, what better place to look for images than the web!
ReplyDelete#2 If I had money I would try....list 5 desires.
1. Attend the Oriental Institute in Chicago. http://oi.uchicago.edu/ (This is their website)(I always wanted to major in Egyptology.)
2. Go on a Cruise to Monte Carlo
http://www.montecarlocruises.com/ (Website for a cruise to Monte Carlo; gorgeous picture on the first page)
3. Go on a trip to New York City to Broadway

4. Buy new furniture
There are so many websites...I need to research this more. I think I am really after a wonderful computer desk/artist table and filing cabinets and storage.
5. Buy a Porsche
